Innocent Akampurira is the ABS Coordinator at the Uganda National Council for Science and Technology (UNCST), the National Competent Authority for ABS in Uganda. In this role, he oversees the implementation of the Nagoya Protocol on Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing of Benefits, working closely with national stakeholders and international partners to ensure compliance and the practical implementation of benefit-sharing mechanisms. Innocent has represented UNCST at numerous international and national ABS engagements, both as a presenter and a delegate, contributing to policy dialogue, capacity building, and the advancement of Ugandas ABS framework.
