Ronald Jjagwe is the Head of the Science, Technology, and Innovation Research & Development (STI_R&D) Division at the Uganda National Council for Science and Technology (UNCST), the Competent National Authority (CNA) for Access and Benefit-Sharing (ABS) in Uganda under the National Environment Regulations and the Nagoya Protocol. With over 18 years of experience, he leads initiatives to strengthen Ugandas research and innovation landscape, focusing on technology development, research commercialization, and entrepreneurship. Ronalds work supports the operationalization of ABS policies by bridging research outputs with practical applications, ensuring that benefits arising from the use of Ugandas genetic resources and traditional knowledge are equitably shared.
